The Forager's Toolbox

Ø Waterproof Hiking boots or Rubber boots

Ø Sturdy basket and mesh or paper bags (Mushrooms do NOT appreciate plastic bags)

Ø Tree and mushroom Identification books

Ø Knife of choice is necessary (Professional foraging knives are beneficial)

Ø Soft bristled toothbrush (for excavation and gentle cleaning)

Ø Mosquito and tick repellent

Ø Water for Hydration

We will be offering many foraging outings as the season commences. The foraging season in Maine tends to be mid-May to Early November, depending on the weather. Mushroom excursions will run for 3 hours, with a 10-person maximum per excursion. Private guided excursions on property of your choosing (with verification of proper permissions if not your land) are available.
